Ultrasound Technologist - Part Time EveningsDetroit, Michigan - DMC Sinai-Grace HospitalJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams, utilizing your expertise to produce high-quality images and provide exceptional patient care.Responsibilities:

• Verifies patient identity and reviews medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure
• Interviews patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors
• Explains procedures to patients, including side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives
• Reviews images, makes initial observations, documents exceptions, and communicates data to radiologists
• Recognizes and responds to medical emergencies as appropriate
• Provides post-care instructions and participates in process improvement activitiesRequirements:
  • Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Sonography
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) training required
  • Registered in specialty within 12 months of employmentSkills and Qualifications:
    • Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most age-appropriate method of providing ultrasound
    • Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and hospital personnel
    • Technical knowledge to operate equipment, including specialized equipment and computers
