-- Magnetic resonance imaging technologists, also referred to as MRI technologists, utilize magnetic resonance imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician to aid in patient diagnosis. MRI technologists must be able to closely follow a physician's instructions, prepare and operate MRI equipment, position patients correctly, and effectively record the requested diagnostic images. --

-- A caregiver in this position works 7:00AM - 3:30PM or 3:00PM - 11:30PM.----
A caregiver who excels in this role will:----

• Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure. --
  • Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination. --
    • Verify and validate the patient screening safety form. --
      • Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA. --
        • Perform venipunctures. --
          • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams. --
            • Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam. --
              • Assist with scheduling patients. --
                • Administer proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam. --
                  • Acquire , archive, transmit and print images via PACS. --
                    • Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork . --
                      • Immediately report any malfunctions, observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or call for service. --
                        • Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility. --
                          • Process billing via RIS. --
                            • Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities, sites, and/or locations. --
                              Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:----
                              • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT. --
                                • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing.----
                                  • OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. ARDMS and NMTCB are primary pathways. --
                                    • Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT) required within one year of hire. --
                                      • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. --
                                        • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes. --
                                          Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: --
                                          • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or experience in other imaging modalities. --

                                            Physical Requirements:
                                            • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
                                            • Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
                                            • Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment:
